Thank you to all of the good folks that came out to our January work party last Saturday at Allatoona Creek Park! We split the huge group of 30 volunteers into teams led by our crew leaders to tackle 3 important projects.
-Brian frost and Jonas silver oversaw some much needed tread work on Love Shack.
-Thom Cerny and Chris Sharpe took the lead on a neat little reroute of Turtleback.
-Chris Dolce and a bunch of workday regulars (including a few kids from the Allatoona Creek Mountain Bike Teams) blazed a new climb trail / emergency access path at Pitner Road Bike Park.
-Dawn Camp and Liana Staelens had an amazing lunch waiting for us at the end.
Of course none of this would be possible without the leadership of John and Emily with Cobb County Parks – Natural Resource Management.
The 124 hours these volunteers gave on their Saturday morning equate to a $4,152 labor contribution to the trails at Allatoona Creek Park. Nice work folks !
If you’d like to lend a hand and give back to the trails we all love, we meet on the 3rd Saturday of every month in the main lot at Allatoona. Come get dirty and make some new friends.
